Intro pages to a website are practically pointless pages. They have flashy animation going off showing the loading of the website. In some cases they provide information about the content of the website. Even this is useless as users can quickly make a judgment about a websites contents by a quick glance of the sites home page. Intro pages are a second too long and majority of users(me to name one) look for the skip button to avoid sitting through the unnecessary viewing.
While searching for a card company that does Spot UV, I came across this intro page for aubergineprint.

It has to be one of the worst intro pages ever. The colour background and text colour combination is horrible. Whoever decided to have a white text over such a light colour has no knowledge of usability. I really had no idea what was going on when I came on to the page, I was just blinded for a second, while my eyes adjusted to what was on screen. It took me a while to find where the skip button was and click it to end my torture. Normal intro pages are not to bad. There are some which have been creatively done and are attractive to watch. However, when one has been designed in a way that forces the users to sit through and watch it, then it just becomes ridiculous!

Hi,
I agree that the person who designed this page has no idea about usability or accessibility issues.
I am sure that if this website was designed with different colours would be really interesting.
